they went to Tanner's Orchard and on the bus trip there Harrison
plucked a stray gray hair of mine off my sleeve. He thought it was so
cool that he showed it to a friend of his who also thought it was
cool. So cool that they bickered over who got to play with it.
Finally he gave it to the friend who broke it half so they both could
have a piece. Sigh....

Moment of Zen
Life is full of boring little moments, nothing earth-shattering just moments. Household chores have to be done, bills paid, lunches packed, notes written, stuff. But one of the things I actually love to do is laundry. Clean laundry makes me happy. Just happy. I love the folding and the scents and the warmth and the order. I always have. When I was kid I use to love doing my dolls' laundry, pulling them off the line when dry(nothing better in the world then clothes dried in the sun) and watching "Marry Hartman, Mary Hartman" with my Mom as I folded my dolls' clothes and she folded ours. It just left me content and to this day it just is my time to be domestic and go inside my head and let my troubles float away for a time.

Elizabeth Taylor
I have sick confession to make. Fat, thin, in between Vincent D'Onfrio is my Elizabeth Taylor. He is just gorgeous to me; I love him.

Thanks for asking
Thank you for asking.... but no, no, I have not watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. I greatly admire the tenacity and commitment of the athletes participating; I remember, through the years watching amazing feats with my family members; and yes, I realize the U.S.A. is far from perfect but no, no, I have not watched the Olympics in China. Just am not a fan of China and its abuses of human rights and I just cannot watch their pageant show. Nope, can't do it...

Just happy
Saw "Mama Mia" and it just made me happy. Sure it was a piece of fluff but it was a fun piece of confection that just made me happy and laugh outright. Hubby slapped my knee when the young Sky appeared on screen but it was dear old Pierce that made my heart go pitter pat. And Stellan wasn't so bad in a Nordic sort of way.

Marriage
Just some thoughts rambling about in my head. Read someone's journal the other day which got me to thinking. I haven't necessarily an opinion or anything truly pithy to say, just a question. Is marriage a fair and equitable proposition for both parties? Depending on the day, hell, sometime the year, my answer might be different. Certainly age has sometimes changed the answer back and forth. We've been together 22 years and married 20.
I've seen friends marry and I have seen some divorce and then seen some remarry. Others have sworn off for good or so they say. Some were just bored and others had horrible things happen during the marriage and then after, during the divorce.
Just thoughts on a hot, humid day...
